The Original Fleetwood Mac gathers recordings the band's first line-up made in 1967 and 1968 for the blues label Blue Horizon but which were left on the shelf at the time. The group then consisted of guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist Bob Brunning, later replaced by John McVie; Mike Vernon produced the sessions. The collection originally appeared in 1971 and shows a tight band rooted in Chicago blues, with Spencer's slide work and Green's restrained phrasing. This is material from well before the breakthrough with Buckingham and Nicks.
