The Inner Sanctum, originally released in March 2007, is Saxon's seventeenth studio album, recorded at Gems 24 Studio in Boston, Lincolnshire, with producer Charlie Bauerfeind. Nigel Glockler was back behind the drums for the first time since Unleash the Beast. The album opens with 'State of Grace' and closes with the almost ten-minute 'Atila the Hun'; 'I've Got to Rock (To Stay Alive)' became a regular part of the live show.
