Wheels of Steel, originally from 1980, made Saxon's name: the second studio album reached number 5 on the UK albums chart and produced two singles, the title track and '747 (Strangers in the Night)', that the band never dropped from its set. 'Motorcycle Man', 'Freeway Mad' and 'Street Fighting Gang' follow one another at speed, in a tight, unadorned sound that set the pattern for the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

This edition is a 2-LP on red and blue vinyl: an anniversary Record Store Day release with a bonus disc of live recordings from the first Monsters of Rock at Donington, August 1980.
