Speaking in Tongues was the first album Talking Heads made without Brian Eno, produced by the band themselves. It leans heavily on funk and dance rhythms, with guest vocals from Nona Hendryx among others. 'Burning Down the House' became their biggest hit in the United States, reaching number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. 'This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)' and 'Girlfriend Is Better' are on the album too, which first appeared in 1983. The tour that followed produced the concert film Stop Making Sense.
