Stop Making Sense is a live album by the American band Talking Heads, released in 1984 as the soundtrack to the concert film of the same name by director Jonathan Demme. The recordings were made in December 1983 during concerts at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, on the tour supporting the album Speaking in Tongues. The core line-up of singer David Byrne, bassist Tina Weymouth, drummer Chris Frantz and guitarist Jerry Harrison was expanded with additional musicians, including keyboardist Bernie Worrell of Parliament-Funkadelic. The album contains live versions of songs such as Psycho Killer, Burning Down the House, Once in a Lifetime and Take Me to the River. The accompanying film, in which Byrne wore his famous oversized suit, became one of the best-known concert films of the 1980s.
