Let There Be Rock captures AC/DC at their rawest during the Bon Scott years. Originally released in 1977, it was recorded in Sydney with producers Harry Vanda and George Young, the older brother of Angus and Malcolm. The band deliberately took a harder, more direct route than on its predecessors: less boogie, more pounding riffs. The title track and 'Whole Lotta Rosie' became live staples; legend has it that Angus's amplifier overheated and caught fire while he was recording the title solo. The international edition was also the first to carry the lightning-bolt logo. It was the last album with bassist Mark Evans, who was soon replaced by Cliff Williams.
