Natty Dread, originally released in 1975, was the first album credited to Bob Marley & The Wailers: Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer had left, the I-Threes (Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, and Judy Mowatt) took over the backing vocals, and American guitarist Al Anderson added a rock accent. It holds the studio version of No Woman, No Cry, alongside Lively Up Yourself, Them Belly Full (But We Hungry), Rebel Music (3 O'Clock Roadblock), Talkin' Blues, and the title track. The lyrics are sharper and more political than on the two Island predecessors.
