Survival, originally from 1979, is the most outspokenly political album by Bob Marley & The Wailers. The sleeve shows the flags of African states around the plan of a slave ship, and the songs deal with African unity and resistance: Zimbabwe, which the band played at that country's independence celebrations in April 1980, Africa Unite, Babylon System, So Much Trouble in the World, and Ambush in the Night, which refers to the 1976 attempt on Marley's life. One Drop lent its name to the rhythm that drummer Carlton Barrett made his trademark.
