3 Feet High and Rising originally came out in 1989 and turned hip-hop on its head. Producer Prince Paul built the debut by Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and Maseo out of samples from Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and The Turtles, among others, strung together in a game-show format full of skits. Me Myself and I, Eye Know, Say No Go, and Buddy, that last one with the Jungle Brothers and Q-Tip, made the D.A.I.S.Y. Age a household term and marked the album as a starting point for the alternative hip-hop and jazz rap of the Nineties. The Turtles sued the group over a sample from You Showed Me, the first major sampling lawsuit in hip-hop. The Library of Congress later added the album to the National Recording Registry.

This edition is a box set of twelve 7-inch singles on splatter vinyl, collecting hits, skits and rare recordings from the album.
