Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper started out as the name of a band from Phoenix built around singer Vincent Furnier, with Michael Bruce, Glen Buxton, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith. After two experimental records for Frank Zappa's Straight label, the group broke through with Love It to Death, Killer, School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies, and with a theatrical stage show involving guillotines, snakes and an electric chair. When the band fell apart in 1974, Furnier took the name for himself: as a solo artist he made Welcome to My Nightmare (1975) with producer Bob Ezrin, scored another worldwide hit in 1989 with Poison from the album Trash, and kept releasing albums through Detroit Stories and Road. The original band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011; in 2025 the surviving members made The Revenge of Alice Cooper, their first album together since Muscle of Love in 1973.
