Tubular Bells is Mike Oldfield's debut album and originally carried catalogue number V2001: in 1973 it was the very first release on Virgin Records. Oldfield played almost everything himself, from Spanish guitar and mandolin to Farfisa and Hammond organ, honky-tonk piano and the tubular bells of the title. The album consists of two long instrumental parts; near the end of Part One, Vivian Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band introduces the instruments one by one. The opening piano motif became known worldwide when William Friedkin used it in The Exorcist.

This edition is an LP on seashore (blue) vinyl, the National Album Day edition.
