Decade of the Eagle is a compilation album by British heavy metal band Saxon, released in 2017. The collection covers the period from 1979 through 1988, the years in which the band from Barnsley grew into one of the leading names of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Classics such as 'Wheels of Steel', '747 (Strangers in the Night)', 'Denim and Leather' and 'Princess of the Night' sit alongside early work like 'Stallions of the Highway'. The tracks are drawn from the albums Saxon released in that period, from the self-titled debut to Destiny. With this catalogue, the band around singer Biff Byford influenced later metal groups such as Metallica and Megadeth.
