Barely nine months after Wheels of Steel, Saxon had Strong Arm of the Law ready, originally released in 1980. The third studio album is shorter and barer than its predecessor: eight songs, little decoration, with 'Heavy Metal Thunder' as the opening punch and a title track about a run-in with the police. 'Dallas 1 PM' deals with the assassination of John F. Kennedy, '20,000 Ft' with life on the road. The formula of twin guitars, high tempo and Biff Byford's voice on top lies as bare here as it ever did.
