The Cult's self-titled sixth studio album, originally from 1994, is known among fans as the "Black Sheep" album, after the cover photograph. Bob Rock produced again, but the sound is darker and looser than on Sonic Temple, with traces of the alternative rock that ruled radio in the early nineties. "Coming Down (Drug Tongue)" and "Star" appeared as singles, and the album opens with "Gone". The band stopped shortly after the tour; Astbury and Duffy did not play together again until the late nineties.
