Acoustic Hits is the acoustic counterpart to Greatest Hits: in August 2001 The Cure went into Olympic Studios in London and re-recorded all eighteen songs from that compilation, stripped back to acoustic guitars, piano and voice. Familiar pieces such as 'A Forest', 'Lullaby', 'Just Like Heaven' and 'Friday I'm in Love' turn slower and barer than in their original form, with the weight shifting to melody and lyric. The recordings first appeared as a bonus with the limited version of Greatest Hits and only later took on a life of their own.
This edition is a 2-LP on black vinyl.
