Court and Spark, originally released in 1974 on Asylum Records, became Joni Mitchell's biggest commercial success. Here she brought her songwriting together with smooth jazz-pop, backed by the band The L.A. Express. 'Help Me' gave her her only US top 10 hit, alongside 'Free Man in Paris' and 'Raised on Robbery'. The songs deal with love, fame and restlessness in tightly arranged form.
