Denim and Leather, originally released in September 1981, is Saxon's tribute to its own audience: the title track sings about the fans in denim and leather. 'And the Bands Played On' is about the first Monsters of Rock festival at Donington and reached number 12 on the UK singles chart; 'Princess of the Night' and 'Never Surrender' stayed in the set for decades. The album itself reached number 9 and closed the run of three records with which Saxon helped shape the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the space of two years.

This edition is an LP on red and black splatter vinyl, carrying the 2009 remaster.
