For Power & the Glory, Saxon went to the United States: the fifth studio album, originally from 1983, was recorded there with producer Jeff Glixman and sounds fuller and more polished than the early work. It was Nigel Glockler's first studio album with the band. The title track opens on a marching rhythm that sets the tone, 'Nightmare' and 'Redline' keep up the pace of the first years, and 'The Eagle Has Landed' grew into a fixed closer of the live show.
